Emerging U.S. Artists Series and Festival Benefit
CAVE opens up its performance space to twelve U.S.-based performers inspired by or trained in butoh. Four separate programs will provide a platform for emerging local and national performers to be seen within the context of a larger, international movement. This series will be opened by special international guest Atsushi Takenouchi and closed with a poignant solo by renowned master Yukio Waguri as a festival Benefit.

SKIN: Improvisation #1 Atsushi Takenouchi

Special international guest improvisation

ATSUSHI TAKENUCHI joined Hoppo-Butoh-ha in Hokkaido, Japan in 1980. He has been developing his own “Jinen Butoh” since 1986, touring and teaching extensively throughout Japan, Eastern and Western Europe, Asia and Australia. His work is concerned with universal expressions of nature, earth, and ancient life.
