The first CAVE New York Butoh Festival in 2003 was funded entirely by the dedicated artists and co-founders, whose love for the art form and belief in its worldwide cultural, creative and spiritual contributions was paramount to any financial restrictions. The 2nd Festival in 2005 was supported in part by The Berlin Administration for Science, Research and Culture; Japan Foundation; Kirin Beer (the 2005 official Beer Sponsor); Mr. Tatsuo Kubota; The Model family, the Rockefeller Foundation Multi-Arts Production/MAP Fund; Materials for the Arts; Mertz-Gilmore Foundation; Pranayama Art Inc.; Taiyo Pacific Partners LP; UNIQLO (the 2005 official Corporate Sponsor); and the Village Voice (the 2005 Media Partner).
